Pervaiz

I am a retired Rear Admiral of the Pakistan Navy. During my eventful naval career, I commanded two destroyers, and went on to command the 25th Destroyer Squadron. I did my Principal Warfare Officers course from HMS Dryad in UK, my staff course from the Royal Naval Staff College at Greenwich, UK, and my war course from the National Defence College Islamabad. I also did a three-year post-retirement stint as the Director General of the National Centre for Maritime Policy Research, during which time I drafted out a comprehensive National Maritime Policy and National Maritime Strategy, the former being under deliberation for adoption. I also subsequently assisted the PN War College by preparing the initial draft of the National Maritime Doctrine. Most of the articles in this blog have been published in various magazines, periodicals and newspapers. I have also participated in various maritime conferences.
